Karen Lanson is a Consulting Psychologist and Leadership Coach in private practice. With more than 25 years of experience as a clinical practitioner, corporate leader and business professional, Karen is passionate about supporting others growth and development within a diverse clientele. Whether mediating conflict, reforming abrasive leaders and promoting respectful workplaces, or coaching high-potential individuals, her pragmatic and strengths-based approach is impactful and deeply valued by her clients.
Drawing from a strong foundation in behavioral science and business, Karen consults on wide range of tactical and strategic issues. She is experienced with numerous assessments, yet attributes much of her success to a focus on Emotional Intelligence assessment and development in her work.
Karen is an MHS (Multi-Health Systems) certified EQ-i2.0ǁEQ360 Master Trainer. As Principal Consultant at Crescendo Inc., she is a co facilitator/trainer in practitioner certification and select client engagements. Most recently, Karen has co-designed and launched a highly successful and engaging EI Community of Practice to better serve Crescendo practitioners.
Karen holds a Masters and Educational Specialist degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She is a member of MN Professionals for Psychology Applied to Work, the American Society of Training & Development, the Consulting Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association, the Institute of Coaching Professionals Association (Harvard Medical School) and The Boss Whispering Institute. She is a former, long-time Co-Chair for the Organizational Coaching SIG of ASTD Twin Cities and a former Board Officer for a large, Minneapolis-based Community Center.
